Majestic Princess Restaurant Menus and Dining Guide

Recommended Posts

Majestic Princess is just one of the seven Princess Cruises ships sailing in Alaska this year. We just returned from our second cruise on this vessel–this time, a one-way Voyage of the Glaciers itinerary. We wanted to test out some of the new “Local Eats Alaska Flavors” on the menu in 2023, as well as The Catch by Rudi, Princess’s brand-new specialty restaurant. Now, we are back and have updated our Majestic Princess Restaurant Menus and Dining Guide to help you plan where you want to eat during your next cruise.

Specialty Dining

Harmony Chinese Restaurant – Deck 5

Unique to Majestic Princess is the specialty restaurant Harmony. In partnership with Chef Richard Chen, also known as the “Duck Master”, this upscale Chinese venue offers a wide range of authentic dishes.

For a cover charge of $39, guests can enjoy a 5 course meal. For starters, guests can choose from classics like spring rolls, crab rangoon, Peking duck salad, or spareribs. The second course includes the option of hot and sour or wonton soup. Then, guests can also choose a vegetable, rice, or noodle dish.

Chinese favorites like stir-fried shrimp, Kung Pao Chicken, Cantonese-style chow mein, and more are included on the menu for entrees. Don’t forget dessert either, like the green tea cheesecake.

Specialty items are available for an upcharge of $12.

The Catch by Rudi – Deck 7

New for 2023, Majestic Princess has replaced the upscale French-style restaurant Bistro Sur La Mer. Now, on deck 7 portside is the Catch by Rudi. This restaurant is a new concept in partnership with master chef, Rudi Sodamin. It is the first seafood-focused specialty restaurant in the Princess Cruises fleet.

The menu includes dishes with a French flair, as well as more traditional seafood options. Some of our favorite entrees included the restaurant’s version of a surf and turf and spaghetti with clams. We also sampled the calamari and marinated lobster tail starters and would highly recommend both of them.

The restaurant has a $39 cover charge, which includes a starter, entrée, and dessert, with additional entrees costing $10. For those who want to really splurge, there is also a raw seafood bar and whole lobsters available at market prices.

Whatever you do, save room for dessert as you will want to try Chef Rudi’s signature berry souffle, the Salzburger Nockerl.

The Catch by Rudi Menu

Crown Grill – Deck 7

The Crown Grill is Princess Cruises steakhouse. This upscale specialty restaurant serves up made-to-order cuts of beef in a warm and elegant atmosphere complete with an open kitchen. The upcharge for this venue is also $39, with the Surf & Turf option costing an additional $10.

Our starter choices included the lobster cake and black and blue onion soup. For entrees, guests can choose from either seafood options like Chilean Sea Bass, Grilled Jumbo Prawns, and Main Lobster Tail, or premium cuts of meat. The menu offers a smothered beef chop, lamb chops, and several steaks like a Rib-eye and Filet Mignon.

Of course, the meal also comes complete with side dishes and dessert. Our hands down favorite dessert was the salted caramel crème brulee cheesecake.

Complimentary Dining

International Café – Deck 5

The International Café is your go-to spot 24 hours a day. This venue serves up breakfast sandwiches and pastries in the morning as well as sandwiches, cookies, and other snacks throughout the day.

The International Café is also the coffee bar on Princess Cruises. This is the spot to get your favorite lattes, cappuccinos, and other espresso based drinks.

In comparison to similar venues on other cruise lines, we did think the food selections, especially for lunch, were a step above the competition.

Main Dining Rooms (Symphony Deck 5, Allegro Deck 6, Concerto Deck 6)

The Majestic Princess dining includes three complimentary main dining rooms. With Dine My Way, cruisers can opt to make reservations for the same time or different times each evening in the three different dining rooms. They can also choose to dine with others or at a private table. These reservations can be made pre-cruise or once onboard the ship.

The Princess Cruises main dining rooms are open nightly for dinner from 5-9:30 PM.

Each of the three dining rooms offers the same rotational menu that changes nightly. In addition to the nightly selections, there are always Princess Favorites on the menu, which include pasta, salmon, and steak options. While some other cruise lines have recently removed these classic dishes, Princess has retained such items.

Further, when sailing in Alaska, the menus include new “Local Eats Alaska Flavors”. These dishes are made with locally sourced seafood and ingredients. Some standout dishes for us included the Bering Seafood Stew, the Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon, the Alaskan Ale-Braised Short Ribs, the Crackling Pork Belly, and the Fettuccine Alfredo. As a bonus, Baked Alaska is also on the menu nightly during Alaska sailings.

The Allegro main dining room was the only one of the three venues that was open for breakfast and lunch on our sailing. Allegro is open daily for breakfast from 7-9 AM and for lunch on select days from 12-1:30 PM. The afternoon tea service is offered daily from 3-4 PM in the Concerto dining room.

Alfredo’s Pizzeria – Deck 6

Alfredo’s Pizzeria is one of our favorite casual spots on Princess Cruises and is certainly one of the pros of sailing with Princess Cruises. Hands down, it’s the best pizza at sea!

This sit-down restaurant is open daily from 11 AM to 11 PM serving up delicious gourmet pizzas day and night. The best part is that there is an open kitchen so you can watch the chefs craft your personal pie.

The menu also features a few soups and salads as starters, pasta dishes, and desserts. With classic pizza options from Margherita and Pepperoni to the signature Majestic Princess, you can’t go wrong with any of these selections. And yes, they are ALL complimentary.

Burger & Lobster Grill – Deck 16

Located on the Pool Deck, forward on the ship, the Burger & Lobster Grill is another casual dining option that is open daily from 11 AM to 10 PM most days. Whether you are lounging by the pool or have just returned from a day ashore, this grill will satisfy your cravings.

The menu includes craft burgers, a chicken sandwich, street tacos, hot dogs, and loaded fries. The menu also features a signature New England-style lobster roll. This item does have an upcharge price of $15.

Chopsticks Noodle Bar – Deck 16

Also located near the pool, opposite the Burger & Lobster Grill, is the Chopsticks Noodle Bar. This unique venue has been maintained on Majestic Princess since her days sailing in Asia. The Noodle Bar is open daily from 11 AM to 10 PM as well.

https://eatsleepcruise.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/IMG_9932-1024x768.jpeg.optimal.jpeg

While we were expecting lo mein-style noodles, the venue actually serves ramen-style noodles. The menu is small with two always available options, wonton noodle soup and vegetable miso ramen, as well as one daily special.

Chopsticks Noodle Bar Menu

World Fresh Marketplace – Deck 16

The World Fresh Marketplace is your typical cruise ship buffet open daily from 5 AM to 10:30 PM, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.

Themed dinners include Mongolian BBQ, Italian Corner, British and Indian Night, and the All-American & Burger Station. These dinners are served between 5:30 and 9 PM.

Breakfast options include your typical fare complete with a custom egg station. Lunch options include deli selections, a custom salad bar, and several hot entrees.

We never dined here for dinner, but we would say that breakfast and lunch were on par with other cruise lines. However, the layout of the venue is a bit confusing which resulted in crowding due to several cruisers aimlessly wandering.

Swirls Ice Cream Bar

Swirls Ice Cream Bar is found next to the pool on deck 16. This venue is open from 11 AM to 10 PM every day of the cruise. Like most contemporary cruise lines, this Swirls offers complimentary cones of soft-serve ice cream. Cruisers can choose from Vanilla, Chocolate, or Twist.

https://eatsleepcruise.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/IMG_9754-1024x768.jpeg.optimal.jpeg

However, cruisers who have upgraded to the Princess Plus or Princess Premier Packages will also want to stop in for their included premium desserts. Of course, we had to test out these new offerings, including the Da Vinci and La Dolce Vita.
